Acting within the framework of state law, is the duty of the Board of Education to see that schools are operated in the school district. The members of the Board are elected by the people for three year terms and serve without pay. The Board of Education selects the superintendent, and with his help selects the teachers. They decide upon the amount of money to be spent for salaries of teachers and for other school expenses. DeRousse, Skaggs, LaMure and Paul. homecoming On December 11, 1954, approximately 1700 persons witnessed the opening of Crystal’s new gym- nasium at which the Crystal '‘A’' and ’’B’’ teams defeated the Cape Central teams. The “A team won by a score of 51-41 and the ”B” team won 51-48. Ed Stackley, the oldest known basketball player from Crystal City High threw in the basketball to start the “A” game.
