Tackle the dummy, push that sled. Harder, harder! Run laps, do calisthenics, hit that line, hold onto that ball. Coaches worry; managers rush, pick up odds and ends. Players valiantly struggle through another day’s grueling practice. Last minute orders are given; relief is only minutes away. Sweat, exhaus¬ tion and dirty practice jerseys follow ominous click¬ ing of spikes into the Barn . Relieved sighs of the day’s training are drowned out by the splattering of showers against the hard cement floor, and throughout the vacant building is heard the closing of lockers as the Bulldogs of CPHS call it a day.
