t i ll i = was The sun rose over the eastern horizon and reflected past the panes of glass onto the newly waxed floors. The lockers stood silent, the phone dormant, and the clock slowly ticked off the ''wrong ’ time. The faint sound of footsteps could be heard and while the sun and clock argued their differences, other footsteps appeared, disapp eared, and reappeared. Voices also faded in and out until a moderate tone was reached, and as the sun and clock continued their duties, the tone increased in volume until the ticking of the clock could no longer be heard. Voices could no longer be distinguished; they only added to the deafening conglom- erate. The volume numbed the ears and then, like an explosion, a ringing occurred, break- ing the sound for a moment. The footsteps shuffled away. Another ring came and went bringing silence. As the sun rose higher, the day went on and the hands of the clock contin- ued to search for their place in time. This was the first day of the school year. Other days followed, but none like that one. The footsteps have now become familiar, voices distinguishable, and the lockers no longer stand silent. Through all, the sun and clock marked the time - THE EAR Orth PEOPLE, Pat erere h AP Peewee Rar recve SF Fee N From the beginning this year promised to be ''different.'' Sometimes we found our- selves topsy-turvy; sometimes we found outselves flat on our backs or getting it smack in the face, but eventually we always manage to smile and say - ‘'Hello, World. During this week each class competed for best decorations of various areas of the school. The Senior section was chosen the best. Other activ- ities included: Students and teachers dressing up in their overalls and jeans for Eagles Overall Day. The same night, football players and Talonettes were auctioned off as slaves to the highest bidder. The buyer had the services of the slave at school. Roy Hiatt, who brought the highest price at the slave sale, was christened Eagle Over- all with a pie in his face. During halftime at the game, the 1975 Homecoming Queen was announced. Winning the nomination was Miss Pam Frittz. The Crowley Eagles hosted the spectators to a greedy game, leaving Lakeworth behind 55-0. To finish up this perfect week, a dance was held in the Middle School Cafetorium. 31 BAND OFFICERS: Top Left: BACK ROW: Pres. Cindy Wills; Treas, Debie Hopkins. FRONT ROW: V. Pres. Joe Torrez; Sec. SENIOR YEAR - 76 The Senior Year - the year that is looked forward to, that is enjoyed, appreciated and most remembered is probably the one that goes by the fastest too. Every senior sees the twelve years of school pass before his eyes graduation night - scenes of flattops the boys wore in younger days and wouldn't be caught dead with now - the girls wearing short dresses with white kneesocks and black pat- ent leather shoes. As the song goes, ''Those were the days, my friend.'' It is pleasant to remember but now we move on. No longer do we answer to someone else. We are our- selves. What mistakes we make, we answer for; it may hurt but we will find that life goes on and so will we. When at the peak of our lifetime, we find ourselves looking back more because we're afraid to look forward, we will open this book, talk about what has happened to the people pictured here and speculate on our own accomplishments. This year ends our twelfth year of school but not our education which is, in fact, just begin- ning. K. Shirley deep in study. 159 160 JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS President, John Daniels; Vice Pres. , Bobby Auberry; Sec., Tange Cox; Treas., Billy Hampton.
