I KI ' - Qidmg I-I. Pogntwv A familiar face in both school and community, Sidney Poynter has seen Crowley Independent School District develope for many years. His leadership and dedication to Crowley has been shown in another year of work with, in, and for Crowley. MARGARET HUGHES Secretary to the Superintendent fs' ff K B Puwtpalu - D. Wlllalwsow For the students, the day lasts only from 8:30 Lmtil 3:30. They then hurry on their separate ways. For Mr. Wilkinson the days are longer. He 's there before 8:00 and sometimes there until much after dark. His weekends are often entertupted by business, but he takes it all in stride. A man of responsibility and friendship, Mr. Wilkinson is never too busy to take time out for staff or student body. With his fast pace he continues to serve Crowley with the effectiveness he has shown in the past. DELORES COLE High School Secretary She 's the lady in the office. She 's the smiling face behind the counter who is always there to help you. It doesn'r rake you long to realize that her friendliness is genuine, her smile sincere. LIU! Worth, Editmfs Now Now we come to that place in the yearbook which a responsible editor 'uses to thank the other members of the staff for their fine work. This is done for two major reasons. First, the ego of the outgoing editor-in- chief is built up by giving him his very own page in the yearbook. He may use it as he pleases or as some editors choose, he may leave it blank, with the title Autographs, Most editors, myself included choose to clutter the page with endless remarks and punctuation. Second, the success of the yearbook, from year to year, depends much on the fact that those who contribute to it like to be, or in some cases, expect to be thanked for their contributions. Unless these people are graduating seniors, it is necessary 'that they be thanked in order that they might be willing to work on the next year's publication. You will notice that seniors are sometimes thanked in this space. This is especially true when the editor is also a senior. The alert editor will always thank the faculty advisor, usually as a safety precaution. So it is with these thoughts that I wish to express my gratitude to Mrs. McQueen, whose infallible guidance was conferred upon the Talon. I also thank at this time our photographers Richard Matthews and Greg Bing who spent many acold night pacing the sidelines during a football game. Thanks also to Business Manager Mike Rattan and his' assistant Tweetie Cox who kept us in the know when we were in the red. Assistant editor I an Rightmer can surely not be forgotten. Sincere thanks go to Mike Selden of KLIF in Dallas who took time out of his busy schedule to help with favorites selection. All kidding aside, there are people on the staff who worked all year in hopes of turning out a good yearbook. The Students of Crowley High School also deserve the thanks of the staff. They gave us the opportunity to publish it. We have enjoyed our part in making this 1969- 1970 E211 and hope that you too will enjoy it. If you do, the staff can ask no more. Then, we will have our thanks. Gary Hampton Qoutgoing Editor-in-Chieij P.S.
