'Mr. Everything’ Baseball player, Ron Guidry of the New York Yankees posted a club a record of 18 strike outs in the game with the California Angels, a team record. Altogether he finished the season with 248 strike outs, another team record. He won 25 games and lost three and capped the season by winning the American League’s Cy Young Award. Historical Events 9

 On November 20, 1978 more than 900 people died in the murder-suicide in Guyana. The victims of this startling event were followers of the late Jim Jones.
