Peplinski; K. Kerschenheiter Kathy and Terry It's a what????? K. Kinsley; D. Grout; J. Stover B. Rowling Hey Band? Hey what? Are we great? Hell yes!!! The battle cry of the Pio- neer Marching 100 echoes through the night, before they march on to the foot- ball field. They are great, and have proved the fact beyond a shadow of a doubt. The 100's first major accomplishment of the marching season was taking first place in the State Fair Parade, for the third straight year. Band Camp, this year, was spent on learning the music and routines for the show at 1). of M. Band Day, September 30. Their show, one of the four post-game shows by high school bands, was viewed by most of the 100,000 people in the Michigan Stadium. The Pioneer Marching 100 was selected to represent all of the class B bands in Michigan. As exciting as U. of M. was, the big- gest event, Mr. Parets' seven year dream was yet to come. For on November 23, Thanksgiving Day, 115 proud Marching Pioneers, marched down Woodward Avenue in J.L. Hudson's annual Thanksgiving Day Parade. Not only has the Pioneer March- ing 3and been on national television, but has now gained international fame. On December 3, they went to Sarnia, Can- ada, for an invitational parade, where, true to form, they took first place. The Marching 100, under the baton of Drum Major Ken Kinsley and Asst. Drum Major David Nehmer, has proven just how great they really are. Look out world..here we come!!!!!! 66 Cros-Lex Singers LEFT TO RIGHT Mrs. Orwin P. Munsell 14. Sliman C. liarnden N. riuyser D. The school paper, The Pioneer, appeared in The Jeffersonian every two weeks. Our editors were Lisa Sturtridge, school paper, and Tara Foley, yearbook.
