JIM PERESTA HEADS S.C. This years Student Council functioned under the leader- ship of the president, Jim Peresta; vice-president. Jack Bell; secretary, Carol Warnat; and treasurer, Laurie Parker. During the fall, the Council organized the Homecoming activities, under the supervision of vice-president Jack Bell. The classes and clubs worked on floats during the week of October 5. The parade and game were held on Friday and, in a break from tradition, the dance was held Saturday night at the Lake Huron Methodist Camp. The Council spent much of the school year working on a new Constitution, which, however, was not ratified this year because of a few changes that still must be made. Throughout the year, the Student Council sponsored a number of extracurricular activities, as well as breakfast in the cafeteria for “Early Birds . The coffee and donuts were greatly appreciated by students and teachers alike. The Cros-Lex SC played host to other Councils in our area this year, providing an opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss mutual problems, and learn what other schools are doing. 10

(AT RIGHT) Marylou Palleschi and Dale Stover pose in the traditional robes of Homecoming royalty. Homecoming The weekend of October 9 cli- maxed a week of fun, hard work, and excitement for the students of Cros-Lex. For some, the most memorable event of the week was the parade. Friday afternoon everyone swarmed uptown to see the colorful floats, the Marching 100, and the gaily - decorated cars. Congressman James Ra.-vey acted as grand marshal and officiated at the crowning of Dale Stover and Marylou Palleschi as king and queen. For others, the weekend’s excite- ment reached its peak at Friday night’s game: Spirit, cheering, sus- pense, hustle ... and still the bitter- sweet taste of defeat. The dance Saturday night pro- vided the week’s final highlight. Held at the Lake Huron Methodist Camp, it featured blazing fireplaces and the performance of the “Apathy”.
