Makarewicz. Mr. Mak is a graduate of Central Michigan Uni- versity and has taught at Cros-Lex for ten years. He has been our class sponsor for four years. It is because of the great amount of work he has done for the Class of 1963 in these years that we feel that this annual should rightfully be dedicated to him. Thank you, Mr. Makarewicz, for a job well done. 2 Z0-H JH(D-Z-20) SCHOOL BOARD - Mr. Meyer, Mr. Wait, Mrs. Hopkins, Mr. Olimer, Mr. Gardner, Mr. Strevel, Mr. Gill. o R G A r i i i o r j A [NJ D f= F= B G I IM A H O F O Mr. Joseph Liddicoat SUPERINTENDENT INI O Y Mr. Jack Caldwell Mr. James Snyder PRINCIPAL ASS'T PRINCIPAL 4 Family k k kps Si mien In Kusy Mrs. M. The llusy UnforgottabU Year The Senior Class of 1963, as true of all Sen- ior Classes, was very busy this year preparing for the Senior Trip and graduation. They started the year off with a bang by winning 1st place in the Homecoming Parade, the 3rd year in a row for this class. Early in November the class was out sell- ing Christmas cards to friends and relatives to raise money. The play cast presented The Remarkable Incident at Carson Corners to a large crowd on November 16 and 17. The month of March sep- arated the men from the mice as the men prepared and served the chile supper. The dayscreeped by until finally the Senior Trip was upon them. Four years of hard work were rewarded by a wonderful week in Washington. Then before they knew it, the strains of'Pompand Circumstance were call- ing the Class of 1963 away from the pleasures of high school and out into the world. The old high school building heaved a happysigh of relief as it released its last group of seniors into the portals of adulthood. 28 The Hemarkabio Incidenf ail (arson Corurrs SENIOR PLAY - Director, Mr. Geer. The wait for the train in the Detroit Fort Street Station. Playing cards is twice as much fun with encouragement. The weather was just right for park They seem to be enjoying the train ride, bench sitting. Pictures like this may cause a little bit of explaining. Better take care or there might be a sur- prise. The sightseeing bus provided a colorful view of the city. ami Have a Wonderful Time! Mrs. Hart gets settled for a long sleep- less train ride. This must be a time out from the card game. Don't let anyone tell you the trip isn't tiring. Seeing the sights took quite a bit of walking. If the girls wanted a neat hairdo , curlers were needed. A brief stop before getting back to the bus. Sleep is the only needed item on the trip. Waiting for the train to take them home, the Seniors rest. Togetherness is the slogan on this Senior Trip. High Window was a drama. The old aunt murdered her husband, but tries to pin the incident on her nephew. It is nice to have the plays over. There is more to cheerleading than ordinarily meets the eye. A lot more time is spent on it than the two hours of game time on Friday nights. Every week there is practice to attend, not counting the hours spent at home limbering up sore muscles. Additional time is spent preparing pep rallies and making signs to promote attendance and spirit at games. All in all, we must give the cheerleaders credit for the many hours spent to help our school and praise them for a job well done. BASKETBALL JUNIOR VARSITY - S. Coon, D. Randolph, D. Westbrook, B. Hall. 79 the Last Year in the Olil High School Ituilriing This page of the 1963 Pioneer Memories book is de- voted to the old school building. The Class of 1963 is the last class to have the distinction of graduating from this school building. After the new school is finished, the Junior High will be housed here. But even after the last seniors leave the school, it will still hold a treasure chest of memories for that class and all that have preceded it. We must admit that many improvements are in order in the new school. Our cracker-box gymnasium will be greatly en- larged. More room will also be available in the hallways; and it is hoped that many of those unavoidable collisions and bottle- necks will be eliminated. The band and choir will have rooms built with tiers on three different levels which will enable them to see the director more easily. Science facilities will also be greatly improved. The cafeteria will serve as a multi-purpose room and a study hall. The new Cros-Lex High School build- ing will be a boon to the community and we should very well be proud of it, but we hate to say good-bye to the old building which has served us so many years. But we have grown too large to fit into its walls and the parting is eminent. So, to you, dear old Cros-Lex High School building, we extend a'sincere thank you for the many opportunities and memories you gave to us, and we bid you a fond farewell. 80 ■DC 0Z-00 OZ-Or-CDJ r 0010(1) 10-1 £mz EDITOR Joy Affelt ASSISTANTS BUSINESS MANAGER Donna DesJardins Norman Clark COPY SECTION Sue Clarkson Judy Goldschmidt Ann Levitte LAYOUT SECTION Becky Griffith Donna Nadjkovic Gloria Ochoa PHOTO SECTION Gloria Johnston Barbara Westbrook PROOFREADER Janet Gaffield SECRETARY Hilda Hall TYPING SECTION Kathy Sullivan ADVISOR Mr. K. They sponsored concessions, dances, held numerous fudge sales, a bake sale, and sold pep pins to raise money. The staff hopes you have enjoyed your look at Croswell-Lexington High School 1962-1963 school year. To the student body and faculty of that year, we hope we have brought back many happy memories of days gone by. n m o jo I (Dnumnsoo tmi h(|) r czz ■ J Tu. “ ••’■-s'' .'jl
