'Dedicatiati and ’Tftemariaw, CLIFTON ROBINSON ALLEN A sponsor of the senior class at the time of his death January 4, 1956, Mr. Allen was faithful in service and thoughtful of students, patient and broad in tolerance. In coaching senior class plays and other school pro- ductions, he himself the author of some, he usually selected and trained two casts and gave two performances. He wanted every student possible to know the satisfaction of being in his own senior class play, and gave no thought to the additional effort on his part. Mr. Allen was a scholar, in- formed on every subject from poetry to architecture. Phi Delta Kappa member, he had been connected with the Alabama School system for twenty-five years, was once Superintendent of Schools at Florala, Alabama, and was teacher at Crossville High School for five years. He was a Mason, member of the Men's Club of Crossville, member of the Crossville Methodist Church, and teacher of the Men's Bible Class. The fibre of his life, its nobleness and gentility, will live long in the lives he touched, and the dedication to him of this, our annual, is our tribute to Mr. Allen.

Tftzwtariam CHALMER F. LIGHT It can be aptly said of Mr. Light, who passed away December 5, 1955, that he was always ready to help in any cause, school or civic. This was shown in his faithfulness in Boys' 4-H Club work and Boy Scout work. He attended all Scout Honor Court meetings and was winner of the Silver Beaver award in Scouting. Phi Delta Kappa member and Junior High Mathematics Teacher, he had taught twelve years at Crossville High School and thirty years in DeKalb County. He was a member of Crossville Men's Club, deacon in the Union Grove Baptist Church and Superintendent of that Sunday School. In all, he was entirely selfless. His last request - for donations toward a baptistry rather than flowers - is symbolic of that selflessness.
