We've laughed and we've cried; we've all clung together Through fiendish exams, and diabolical weather. We've worked (some have loafed), we've saved (some have spent), There's always, you know, a certain per cent. And now we are reaping the fruits of our toil. They are scattered over the face of the earth, and many have accomplished unusual things. LOOK WITH ME NOW TEN YEARS INTO THE FUTURE. I see a large TWA airlines plane landing in England. The air hostess who assists the passengers is Betty Currie Rogers. She is greeted by Wilbur Smith, a very suc- cessful CBS News reporter. I see that Doris Barksdale, who used to think she wanted to be a nurse, is now married, and she says she wants to nurse only one man. Wayne Carr has a very successful business raising cows. A life of teaching in day time and rocking babies at night is Betty Sue Yarbrough's fate. Martha Hyde used to say in school she intended to be a teacher, but she decided to be a Painter. Shirley Williams is the first woman ever appointed Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. The first thing she did after her appointment was to have the Supreme Court bench repainted and decorated. Edward Byars is head of the new doughnut factory. He stuffs the doughnuts with the holes from macaroni. A college graduate and a very successful business man is Kenneth Cash. Donald Head has realized his ambitions as a grower of fine produce. His wife, Shirley Johnson, of course, does all the work, while he takes all the praise. He has specialized in the growing of chickens with two wish bones. Gail Hayes is private secretary to Mr. Allen who is now president of the United States. Ora Lee Brown has graduated from the University and is still singing In the Pines. Gleason Johnson, a doctor of medicine, is head of a large clinic for the removal of forgotten knowledge in Alaska. Tommie Tidmore is still living at Geraldine teaching school. Will ode an Bearden is doing fine; she lives in Canada, and has twelve children. Now that Sue Mullins has finished college, she's a very good typing and shorthand teacher. Tommy Daniel is now Superintendent of Education in DeKalb County. Oliver Bell is sheriff of Texas and, of course, is making a lot of friends. Bruce Hunt is looking after the cattle which his father imported from Scotland. Since Marvin Bowman has gone through college, he's making lots of money dig- ging ditches. Billy Roden has lots of fun, and makes money just sitting around. Since Bobby Sampson is head of a railroad company, we'll have good railroads. Frank Abney has invented an airplane that will go 1,000-miles-an-hour. In China, Gaynell Wafford is earning $100 per week making pots and pans. Christene White is still at Crossville teaching the first graders how to read and write. Donald Plunkett is still in college training for the army. Erline Clowdis has been traveling all over the world just looking for a husband. Charles Laney is in the army just taking it easy. Billie June Naylor's education in college ended up in finding her a husband. Kermitt Lindsey owns the Knoxville Food Market, and fifty people working for him. 51 Jeanette Mozley is working in a pie factory making pies from salt and flour. Robert Edmondson is now principal of Jacksonville College, After graduating from college Irmadine Hill has been writing books on How to Get Married. Tommy Hedgepeth is still in Crossville with nothing to do but make a crop. Frankie Parker and Kathelane Plunkett are still at home raising cane for a living. Kenneth Willmore has gone to Spain to teach Spanish. Myrtice McCormick is an old maid working in the school lunch room at Boaz. The great inventors of atomic automobiles are Tommy Rucks and Devo Petty. Since Jackie Black has gone to Canada, Jean Powell has no one to tell her troubles to. Claudia Morton used to say she was never going to leave home, but when that man came along she decided differently. Bobby Cotton is a pastor in Collinsville. His sermons are so soothing that his whole congregation goes to sleep. Donna Langston has just arrived in Asia after completing the first non- stop flight to the moon.
