Hearing a speech by David Pryor was a highlight of the week-long training session in how local and state governments work. Kathy Andrews, Tammy Campbell, and Sandra Scarlett were chosen by a taculty com- mittee in the spring of '78 to attend Girls' State. In a week of activities at Ouachita Baptist Uni- versity, the girls set up a model government patterned after the state of Arkansas. Watty Strickland, Robert Math- eney, and Mark West were the three Georgia-Pacific scholar- ships awarded to Crossett sen- iors. The winners were announced by Superintendent Hugh Willis in a special assem- bly. Mark is putting his scholarship to use at Louisiana Tech, while Robert is at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and Watty is at Ouachita Baptist Uni- versity.

'Memories' for Class of '78 Welcomed by a speech from Class President Robert Matheney, the seniors ot '78 began their Prom. Vice- President Jessie Clark started the entertainment by introducing the junior waitresses. After a skit by some seniors of '78, Marcia Broadway showed a slide pres- entation while Tim Ray sang The Way We Were.
