THE BISCN BAN The Cross Plains School has had many outstanding bands in the past years, but the nuc le u s of the present Bison Band was formed in 1949 under the direction of Wendell Willis, who, de- spite a scarcity of uniforms and instruments, organized a very successful first-year band During 1950 and 195l,PatMcNallen with rare talent fielded a band which attracted favorable atten tion over a wide area It was during this pe r 1 od also that new band uniforms were purchased through the combined efforts of the school and civic minded citizens of Cross Plains A strong Band Booster's Club was formed and this o rg ani zati on has functioned very effectively to promote the further development -n HlK!lMm King of the Band The present di re c tor of the Bison Band W W King has attracted state wide attention with the superiority of his group s performances and the entire school and every c 1 ti z en feels a thrill of pride when our Bison Band swings into action ral 1-or Eltvl' -um e I au -0-.-4.
