ai- Spirit Week at Cross Keys is a festive time of year, with the making of class floats, decorating the halls, and competition for the winner of Spirit Week. The festivities continued with dress up days . . . Monday - Punk Rock day, Tuesday - Kids and Old Folks day, Wednesday - Cowboy day,.Thursday - Crazy day, Friday - Spirit day. Collections for the spirit chains, the homecoming court presentation assembly, and a terrific pep rally added to a very exciting week. The Sophomore class was awarded the prize for the best float, and the Freshman class won spirit chain competition. The prize. forlthe best hall decoration went to the Senior class, and the dress up participation award went to the Subfreshman. The October 17 game against Chamblee was much awaited. After a wonderful halftime show presented by the CK Band, Drill Team, Flag Corps and Maiorettes, the 17 member homecoming court was presented. Runners-up were: Second - Bonnie Shapiro, and First- Debbie Robbins. Then at the peak of excitement, Mary Beth Campbell was crowned by last year's queen, Gina Storms. This year's theme, A Night In The Orient, provided for beautiful decorations at the 'Homecoming Dance. Held October 18 in the gym, the dance was a big success and featured an Atlanta based band called Sydewynder. All in all, Cross Keys 1980 Hom coming was a very big success. It was an extremely spiri and memorable week, filled with excitement, and happiness for all.
