i VOLLEYBALL Varsity Girls Finish Strong The 1980-81 Varsity Girls' Volleyball team got off to a slow start, but when they started winning, they couIdn't be stopped. They had a 4-game winning streak by the end of their season. ln one of those games, they knocked Lakeside out of contention for the playoffs. The girls ended the season with a 4-6 record. They started off slowly with two losses, but the team snapped back, winning three straight. BASKETBALL Varsity Boys Come On Strong! The 1980-81 boys' Varsity basketball team really had the talent and skill this year. The team consisted of 14 players, nine of whom were seniors: Dexter Walker, Neil Breiner, Walter Glass, Dewayne Miller, Albert Jenkins, Ernest Bauer, Sandy Litt, Steve Stewart, and fthe giant of the teaml Bruce Benton. The other half of the team included live juniors, who will be a good foundation for the Varsity team next year: Kevin Self, Bobby Sparra, Timbo Walker, Reggie Hood, and Elan Bitan. The team displayed many talents as well as good attitudes. From the beginning to the end of a game, they always kept their poise and aggressiveness. All of the games were very exciting and close, within a few points, so there was never a dull moment. Thank you, boys, for representing our school as a proud, well-skilled, and talented team.
