Varsit Drill Team Gets In Step One of the most exciting moments of a football game is watching the varsity drill team perform its spectacular routines during halftime. Composed of 29 talented girls, the drill team got off to a good start this year after winning the Spirit Award and Best Combination Routine at Jere Ward's All-Star Drill Team Clinic summer camp. Also at camp, many members won individual awards while five others were selected to be on the Atlanta All-Stars Drill Team, which performs at various events around the state. Next on the schedule was a performance at 8th grade orientation and vigorous practices to get in shape for football season. Using flags for the first time this year, the girls faithfully practiced with the band at 7:30 every morning and at 3:30 every afternoon. Their hard work and dedication definitely paid off as they pleased audiences at football and basketball games and pep rallies.
