HALFTIME ENTERTAINMENT Marching Band Has Style The Cross Keys Band adds spirit to the school by playing at all Varsity football games and pep rallies, and performing at halftime. Through much hard work and practice, the band has successfully competed in marching festivals and competitions. When the marching season ends, the concert season begins. During this time the band puts in a great deal of practice on concert music, and as a result, has continually received ratings of excellent and superior at concert band performances. The success of the band has come from its many talented musicians and dedicated members, as well as the excellent job done by Mr. Rundbaken, the director. , V , w'W'w??2f. Varsit Drill Team Gets In Step One of the most exciting moments of a football game is watching the varsity drill team perform its spectacular routines during halftime. Composed of 29 talented girls, the drill team got off to a good start this year after winning the Spirit Award and Best Combination Routine at Jere Ward's All-Star Drill Team Clinic summer camp. Also at camp, many members won individual awards while five others were selected to be on the Atlanta All-Stars Drill Team, which performs at various events around the state. Next on the schedule was a performance at 8th grade orientation and vigorous practices to get in shape for football season. Using flags for the first time this year, the girls faithfully practiced with the band at 7:30 every morning and at 3:30 every afternoon. Their hard work and dedication definitely paid off as they pleased audiences at football and basketball games and pep rallies. Finally, marching in the Peach Bowl parade with the drum corp, marked the end of the drill team season. Sponsor Ms. Cheshier X is X V ,. ' . .
