Another section of Industrial Arts is the Graphic Arts Department. This section focuses mainly on photography for people who dream of someday shooting Cheryl Teigs. HGME ECON0 ICS Mrs. Kay Fulmer Miss Nan Denmark X YL1 f . You can learn a lot more in Home Economics now than just cooking. A student O can take courses on what to cook for breakfast all the way up to how to sew your own prom dress. A different type of course offered in this department is called Married Life. Mr. Rundbaken, who is head of the department, has been band director at Cross Keyes for 13 years. He puts in a lot of extra hard work during football season so that the marching band can be something to be proud ot. The new choral director is Ms. Cheshier. She graduat- ed from University of Tennessee to take on her first teaching job here at Cross Keys. ln an attempt to attract students interested in pop music, she started the Vocal Jazz Ensemble. He says of teaching, Why, I wouIdn't even think of doing anything else. Coach Padgett, besides teaching, is the Boys' Varsity Basketball coach. When asked what he does in his spare time, he replied, l'm too busy to have any! PHYSICAL EDUC TIO E 4 Mrs. Mary Alice Palmer Ms. Joyce Barineau Ms. Barineau, like Coach Edentield, has been teaching here as long as the school has existed. She coaches the Varsity Girls' Basketball team and the Tennis team. Ms. Barineau has also led several tennis players to the state championship. Mrs. Palmer says, Eighth graders are my favorite because they need a momma to get them through their first high school year. She enjoys knitting and cooking whenever she has the chance.
