These problems require deep thought which in turn develops reasoning power. Math is necessary in everyday life as well as in the application of principles in scientific research. Preparation for these practical uses of mathematics is obtained through courses in general math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus, which are taught by well trained and de- voted teachers.
