ar Q uden An outstanding member of the Senior Class is chosen each year to represent the school as its Star Student. The honor is based on the highest college board scores coupled with an equally high record at school. Donna Anderton, this year ' s Star Student, certainly deserves this award for she is not only an exceptional student, but she is also Captain of the Debate Team, member of Beta Club, a National Merit Finalist, and Editor-in-Chief of the Key- word. Donna has selected Mrs. Mary K. Chap- pell as the teacher who, through encour- agement and guidance, has influenced her the greatest during her years at Cross Keys. 2) onna ncferk erton 133

JKiss 7) 9? Each year the DAR Citizenship Award is presented to a Senior girl on the basis of school participation, scholastic ability, and outstanding citizenship. Sue Long, one of our most prominent seniors, was selected as this year ' s Miss DAR. Throughout her high school career, Sue has been involved in all phases of school life, as a leader and an intellectual. Elected as a superlative for the past four years, she served as Prom Chairman during her Junior year and Vice-President of the Student Council the same year. This year, although much of her time is devoted to her work as President of the Council, Sue still finds time for membership in Beta Club, Math Club, French Club, as well as being a senior editor on the CHIEFTAIN Staff. 134
