SAMUEL KENNETH WATSON A clear conscience and heroic mind. Basketball 23 FFA 1,2,3, IUNIOR CLASS STORY 1953 - Freshmen! That was to be our title as we started our long road through high school. At the first of the year we had twenty-five members. We had two members on the Student Councilg Sammy Betsill and David Bailey. we lost two members at the last of the year, After trudging through that first year, we found we were sophomores. We had three members elected to the Student Councilg Sammy Betsill, Bobby Lamb and Ann Turner, who was later chosen secretaryand treasurer. We had six members on the basketball teamg Elsie Lancaster, Yvonne Lancaster, Elizabeth Hindman, Ann Turner, Dean Grady and Kenneth Watson, Mary Frances Lee joined our class shortly before second semester, and later became a cheerleader along with S amm y Betsill. At the last of the year, nine of our class were asked to join the Beta Clubg Mary Frances Lee, Elsie Lancaster, Elizabeth Hindman,Carol Layton, Ann Turner, David Bailey, Buddy Lamb, Sammy Betsill and Bobby Lamb. We also lost two more members at the last of the year, Starting our third year, we were now jol1y juniors. Elizabeth Hindman was elected to the Student Council. We had three more members to join the basketball clubg Sammy Betsill, Bobby Lamb, and Earl Morrow. Friday 14, Mr. Seward, the ring man' came to measure us for rings, We are ordering the traditional ring with red cut stones. Our class has had much fun during our attendance at Cross Anchor High School. We are expecting many more happy times as we go into our Senior year,
