MR. BAERTSCH I Paul Lewis Baertsch spent his first seven years after graduating from Valley City College at Kulm. N.D as principal and coach. Mr. Baertsch then moved to Harvey, N.D. where he was coach for 12 years, of football, baseball, bas- ketball, and track. Seven of those years he was also principal. His coaching records while at Harvey were outstanding. The football team listed 50 wins with 14 losses and 3 tied games, going with five undefeated seasons and five conference titles. Mr. Baertsch coached the basketball team to seven district titles, placing second four times and once third. His team went on to win State B’' consolation in 1944 and fourth in 1953. His total basketball record was 235 wins and 94 losses. Mr. Baertsch then transferred to DCHS at Crosby where he was principal and teacher for 14 years, 1954-1968. He then became a teacher of social sciences from 1968-1979, making a total of 25 years here at Crosby. Thanks Mr. Baertsch and we'll miss you! 26
