FOOTBALL - 1967 The Crosby Maroon Grid Team enjoyed 1967 in record setting fashion. The offensive unit established a new total yards gained record for the 60 V', and the defense limited the opponents to less than a score per game. Homecoming was a huge success with the defeat of old rival Minot Model, and the squad wound up in a virtual tie for second in the league standings. ’’The Maroons were a Success. We were young, inexperienced, and very short for a class A basketball team. I think we did exceptionally well in winning 9 ball games this year. Among these were three games and the championship of the Stanley Christmas Tournament. The next highlight of the season was at New Town where we ended a 12 year losing streak. We are losing only four by graduation but all four started at different times during this year. Coach Talley STATISTICS SUMMARY Shots Pet. Free Throws Pet. Total Pts. On Wednesday the junior and senior classes each presented their queen candidates, with a skit centered around each. Gail Riveland was the junior candidate and Claudia Walen was the senior candidate. Thursday was voting day. Both the king and queen were voted on. Greg was named king. Because of the rain, the student body got out of school to have the traditional parade which was originally scheduled for that night. The floats for each class were: Senior- Cream the Kits , Junior- Kits are for Kids , Sophomore- We won't take it 'Lion' down , and Freshman-'Tt's Beaver Branding Time . Returning King and Queen Victory despite the rain Friday night the Minot Model Kits came to town. We won by a score of 21-0. After the game, everyone went up to the gym.
