HOMECOMING Homecoming activities were opened with a parade and snake dance led by the cheerleaders. The Sophomores delighted the crowds with their winning float of a large panda bear with the theme, Maroons Panda Win. The evening was completed with a pep rally around the bonfire. The Maroons were defeated by the Stanley Bluejays with a score of 0-6. The evening highlight came with the crowning of King Lowell and Queen Jeanne. The theme of the dance was Football Fiesta. Homecoming Royalty Winning Float Second Prize Queen Candidates Junior Float Pep Band Jeanne and Jane CHS Bonfire SWEETHEARTS BALL The 1963 Sweethearts Ball was sponsored by the Crosby chapter of the F. H. A. The main event of the evening was the crowning of Pat Blevins as queen and Larry Overbo as king. The crowning was followed by the annual dance and lunch. Richard Baker CLASS POEM Vicki Thompson CLASS NIGHT The annual Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom, held May 11, was one of the highlights of our 1963 school year. Mr. Cal Calton was the speaker at the banquet honoring the seniors and a vocal solo, Alice Blue Gown,” was sung by Judy Sundhagen. The prom was opened with the Grand March led by the Junior and Senior Class presidents and their dates. The prom theme, Heavenly, was carried out by decorating the gymnasium in colors of aqua and silver. A large bridge and stream also added to the decorations. Music was provided by the collegiates and a duet My Blue Heaven, was sung by two Junior girls. Junior girls Valli and Sharon Punch Servers GRADUATION WEEK BACCALAUREATE SPEAKER COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER Rev. Howard Benson Dr. O. A. De Long Graduation activities began May 19 with a Baccalaureate Service in the high school gymnasium with Rev. H. B. Benson as speaker.
