Nevertheless, the Ceramics did go farther than any other Crooksville team in the past, earning $100 for their efforts. The team members were Richard Ruff, a 3rd year member who served as an alternate as a Sophomore, Doug Baker, a 3rd year member who served as an alternate as a Freshman, Joe Frash, a second year member, and Brent Marshall, whose quick-thinking carried most of the burden throughout all of the matches. Alternates were Mark Pontious and Ken Browning. At this time the Annual Staff would like to give thanks to the cheerleaders of Crooksville High School. We think the young women we have are the best this school has ever had and maybe the best in the state. They give of themselves with such enthusiasm and energy which is hard to find today in anything. They are models of true spirit and loyalty. 1 cannot imagine what the school would be like without them. Who would bring the fans to their feet when the team is in a slump? Sports at this school would never be the same again. Mere words cannot begin to express the gratitude that we (The Annual Staff) and the students of Crooksville High School feel about you. We end this note by saying that we love you for bringing spirit, pride, and beauty to the school. 42 Homecoming . . Queen Myra HOMECOMING HIGHLIGHTS . . GOLF The 1978 Ceramic linksmen headed into a year in which they thought would be a banner season for Crooksville Golf, but what came to be was a disappointment to the standards they had set for themselves. The Ceramics again finished 6th in the MVL for the second year in a row. They did have their high points of the year also, qualifying themselves for the District for the 2nd year in a row, a first in Crooksville Golf history. The team placed two members on the All-SEO squad, Tom Willison and Scott Dillinger. It was the second year in a row that Scott was named to the team. The squad also had three other lettermen, David Horn a 3 year letterman, Randy Taylor a 1st year letterman, and Bruce Marshall, a Freshman, who handled the pressure of competing against upperclassmen very well. The Most Valuable Player award went to Scott Dillinger. The team was under the direction of a first year Coach, John Shonkwiler. Hail — and Farewell! ! ! Our days through school Have now gone past. Our memories will last. Our futures are filled With discovery and promises. The world is ours To explore and improve. Every day of our life is filled with adventure. To go through the day And learn something new. The time has come To put our knowledge to use. To help others learn, create and discover. Good Luck now my friends. We’re free now to find, We’ve a lot to discover And learn in our lifetime. 132 BECKY CAMPBELL % « ■ v' v •- CrVC Ir s ' o-5;.v: v •V- % - '• ' r- %• S , , V' «'S % •• .1 4 . ;• . -..- ■ :: v : -. ---. • ■ . - . - - - • • . . %,•«« • . • ....... - • . « %N . • • • 0 — . -• ■' —
