The Juniors started their third year at C.H.S. on August 31, 1970, with 90 members. The first event to take place was the election of officers. Richard Starts was elected president; Scott Harris, vice-president; Gail Adams, secretary; and Lou Ann Brannon, treasurer. Those elected to represent the class at Student Council were Sharon Robinson, Jeryl Henning, Ed Eveland, and Bruce Syphers. Since most were seasoned veterans of the school, there were many students in each school organization. There were twelve in Science Club, twelve in Spanish Club, three in the library, thirteen in Varsity C, two on the annual staff, eight in chorus, nine in band, one as a varsity cheerleader, two as reserve cheerleaders, and three worked in the office, and one served as majorette. Fifteen boys participated in football, seven in basketball, and five in track. Gail Adams was elected to reign over the homecoming activities as junior attendant. Class advisors were Mrs. Arthur Long, Mr. David Slade and Mr. Jerry Sutherland. Richard Starts, president; Lou-Ann Brannon, treasurer, Scott Harris, vice-president; Gail Adams, secretary.
