There were five in band, five in chorus, four in F.H.A., ten in Science Club, nine in Spanish Club, and twelve in Varisty C. Four served as office help, and ten were librarians. Molly Dalrymple was chosen Homecoming Queen and Ellen Swingle was senior attendant. Nine boys were on the football team, and five played basketball. Several played baseball and th ree participated in track. The main money-making project was the senior play under the direction of Miss Trena Kinnan and Miss Kaye Kinnan. The Juniors started their third year at C.H.S. on August 31, 1970, with 90 members. The first event to take place was the election of officers. Richard Starts was elected president; Scott Harris, vice-president; Gail Adams, secretary; and Lou Ann Brannon, treasurer. Those elected to represent the class at Student Council were Sharon Robinson, Jeryl Henning, Ed Eveland, and Bruce Syphers. Since most were seasoned veterans of the school, there were many students in each school organization. There were twelve in Science Club, twelve in Spanish Club, three in the library, thirteen in Varsity C, two on the annual staff, eight in chorus, nine in band, one as a varsity cheerleader, two as reserve cheerleaders, and three worked in the office, and one served as majorette. Fifteen boys participated in football, seven in basketball, and five in track. Gail Adams was elected to reign over the homecoming activities as junior attendant. After the first few weeks of school the sophomores were set- tled and ready to undertake the year's activities. The first activity of interest to the sophomores was the election of officers. Brion Spring was elected to lead his class as president, with Cynthia Neff as vice-president, Trina Mercer as secretary and Vickie Starcher as treasurer, Rhonda Dusenberry, Lynn Gottke, Jeff Sherrick, and Craig Schooley were elected to serve on the Student Council. The Freshman Class increased the high school population by 115 this fall. The class quickly let it be known that they were active. The first way they showed their interest in the school was by joining the clubs. Nine honored the Spanish Club with their membership, while fifteen widened the Science Club. Six girls joined the chorus, and twenty-one musically inclined students played in the band. Nine helped in the library. The next thing they attacked was sports. Fifteen boys played basketball, fifteen played football, a nd twelve ran track. The first few weeks of school were very confusing to them, but they soon learned their way around the school. Their first real job was to elect class officers. Those elected to represent their class in Student Council wereJohn Tedrow and Brenda Thomas. Many of the students participated in school activities. There were seven in the band, sixteen on the junior high football team, and eleven on the junior high basketball team. Hardesty has completed his first year as superi tendent of the Crooksville Schools. The new superintendent started his duties he re last September after serving in the Ohio County School System in Wheeling, West Virginia. He has had considerabl- experience in the field of education having served as a teacher for six years, a principal for two years and o superintendent for nine years. He received his BS. and MA. from Ohio University. Mrs. Joseph Wilson has se rved us our school sec retary for the past eight years. During these years she has performed the endless tasks of her job with core and efficiency. She will long be remembered by the students and faculty of C.H.S for her willingness to help and her sparkling per- sonolity. The Principal Mr. Nuil has been at C.H.S. for the past seven years. He began his first year here at the some time we began our first year in Jun- ior High School. He has been very active keeping the high school run ning smoothly.
