TO MISS EVA COULTER who has spent these many years in an effort to teach us to do things correcHy; who has marked all our errors in the hope that we would correct them; and who has had much to teach us FF we wanted fo learn. Miss Coulfer was graduated From CrooksviHe High School in 1922; then she received her B. A. from Ohio Wesleyan Universify, where she was Phi Beta Kappa; next she re- ceived her M. A. From Ohio State Universify; and lafer she did more graduate work at Wesfern Reserve. In her years of service fo Crooksville young people, she has variously faughf 10th, 11th, and 12th grade English, Spanish I, II, and III, speech, and French I and II; she was junior class advisor For many years sponsoring the Junior prom and coaching the junior play; and she organized and has sponsored a Spanish club continuously throughout her tenure. So, to Miss Coulter, fhis yearbook isdedicafed in appreciation For her steadfast efforts fo hefp us and as a tribute 'ro her unswerving integrity. THE BOARD OF EDUCATION Mr. F red Piccone Mr. Ray Tolley, President Mrs. A. C. Lawrence IN SESSION Mr. Carl Hughes, Vice-President The Board of Education is composed oF Five citizens elected by popular vote of the school district to operate the local schoois. It is their duty to make general policies for the good of the students and the school community, to hire personnel, to budget the money to get the mostvalue For the least expenditure. They have prepared written regula- tions to establish policies which will remain consistent regardless oFchonges in personnel. Like a board ofdirectors, they oper- ate 'the biggest business inCrooksviHe-- the biggest transportation business with seven busses transporting approximately 600 students; the biggest restaurant busi- ness serving approximately 400 people each day; the biggestentertoinment busi- ness with social and sports events each week, not to mention the small matterotc educating over 1,300 students. THE SUPERINTENDENT Mr. William Worthington has served as superintendent of the Crooksville Schools For the pasteighteen years. He start- ed in the First grade at East School at the age of six. He REALLY started at the bottom and worked up. He is described by the grade school students as that man who carries things, because he runs asort of personal delivery service to all the schools. He is described by the high school teachers as the man who spends clays and days Filling out report forms on a terribly messy desk. He may also be Found helping the janitor scrub a Floor, selling tickets at a ball game, counting lunch money, veri- Faxing copies of important papers, keeping a study hall, patrolling the halls of a building, or standing on the street talking--about school problems. It has been in his tenure that the new gym and science laboratories were built, the East, North, annd Luney build- ings have been remodelled; and MC Luney and BearField Town- ship have ioined the Crooksville Exempted Village School District. But through it all, his first interest has always been the students; and his proudest accomplishments are maniFested by the students' scholarship honors and their success with Further education or employment as a result ottheir educa- tion in the Crooksville Schools. THE PRINCIPAL Mr. Henry W. Null, Jr., has been principal of the high school For the past five years, He is responsible For its or- ganization and its discipline. And he only gets the discipline cases after they become too difficult for the teachers to handle. He listens to complaints and gripes about things in which he has had no partincausing. Hepinch-hits For teachers who are absent; he directed the band when he was needed; he in- herited the cheerleaders. He sees mostly the problem children, because his day is not long enough to include many of the good kids. He chaperones all school events and acts as bouncer when it is necessary to evict an undesirable. He sets an example with his loyalty and integrity. Without him, there would be mayhem. Yes, surely, misery is a high school principal. THE RECEIVING LINE , AT OPEN HOUSE 3E 3;; Miss Coulter Mr. Mast Mr. Bell and Mr. Cannon 1.3112 A 5i$$m 8 Miss Kinnan The Band Room 1W3. FACULTY MRS. Since the Faculty remain to remember, they seemed the logical people to point out these personalities. Therefore, a poll was conducted of the teachers who have worked with this class For the past Four yearso The teachers who participated judged with a seriousness comparable to choosing the honor society. And, in truth, these people are an honor society of the 'iunsung heroes of the classo They leave their KATHY WATTS mark on the teachersl memories, on the activities mos: 00-Oper?gliVe in which they have participated, and in the improve- OS resDons' e ments they have helped to create. One of the parents went to Columbus and bought eighteen uniforms, one hard helmet, and two moleskin helmets. The boys took their shoes to Mr. Frecker tMike Frecker's grandfathert and had him sew little pieces of leather to the soles to serve as cleats. Then they were in business. Their record follows: Crooksville 0 ZANESVILLE 56 Crooksville 0 NEW LEXINGTON 6 CROOKSVILLE 20 Carroll 6 New Lexington was scheduled to play them twice, but the second time there was a flood and they didn't make it., Carroll also was to play a re- turn game, and they started to Crooksville, but their transportation broke down and they didn't get here. Crooksville's one win was against Carroll, and End Harold Showers reports that the Crooksville boys must have over-owed them, because Crooksville had uniforms and Carroll didn't.
