DWIGHT DARLING who died August 2, 1967, after a life dedicated to public education. On his way from a one-room school to assistant state director of education, he served as superintendent of the Crooksville Schools from 1930 to 1951, with the exception of four years while he was in the United States army during World War 11. Mr. Darling will be remembered by a complete generation of Crooksville citizens as a teacher who stressed the learning of such intangibles as honesty, integrity, personality development, and re- sponsibility, long before educators chose to call it guidance. It is a matter of great pride to the community that he considered Crooksville his home and chose it as his final resting place. AND IN APPRECIATION T0 all the teachers who have contributed to the development of the school program, who have given of their time and talents to the education of the young people of Crooksville, and who have en- dured the trials and tribulations of these students' growing up. :ini a 1 :1. LaKwsggkkamgggz BOARD OF EDUCATION Mr. Ray Tolley Mr. Fred Piccone Mr. Chester Leasure Mr. Carl Hughes The many responsibilities encountered ,in this school system are handled very ca- pably and efficiently by the Board of Edu- cation. With patience, foresight, wisdom, and ability, these five citizens elected by the voters of the school district, deal with school problems of finance, policy, and per- sonnel. It is with sincere gratitude that the stu- dent body expresses its appreciation for the guidance that this Board of Education has bestowed upon our schools. Mr. Hobart Allwine, retiring MEETINGS from Board in January, 1968 Mrs. A. C. Lawrence THE SUPERINTENDENT With a constantly growing student body, a changing faculty, and a complicated financial situation, the su- perintendent of the Crooksville Exempted Village School System, Mr. William Worthington, always has many re- sponsibilities and duties. He is a capable and qualified person to handle these problems and to see that the stu- dents get the best possible education. In the thirty-seven years in which he has served the Ci'ooksville Schools as an elementary teacher, as a high-school teacher, as high-school principal, and finally as superintendent, he has always taken time from his heavy duties to help any student who needed his help. The community is fortunate in having Mr.Worthington as head of its schools and the student body is fortunate in having him as a friend. THE PRINCIPAL Mr. Henry W. Null, Jr. has served Crooksville High School as its principal for the past three years. Even with his many responsibilities for keeping the high school running smoothly, he finds time to help the students, encouraging the development of desirable young citizens. Mr. Null pursues his work with loyalty and honesty; and he expects the same from the students. w; m 9a Mr. Traver in chemistry lab. Taiking to Dave Bell and Steve Thomas Mr. Worthington at assembly.
