The Crux Hi Skan CROOKSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL Crooksville, Ohio We dedicate the 1962 Crux-Hi-Skan to Miss Snell and Miss Heskett, two formers teachers at Crooks-ville Schools. Miss Ruth Snell retired last year after serving as an instructor in English and the eighth grade advisor for 43 years. Miss Gladys Heskett also retired last year from her position of third grade teacher at East School. Miss Heskett had taught for 40 years. The class of 1962 wishes to express sincere thanks to these two wonderful teachers for their help and guidance during the past years. 2 Foreword DAVID ADAMS Business Manager Dear Readers, This, the forty-third edition of the Crux-Hi-Skan , will attempt as in the past to present a brief glimpse of the school year at Crooksville High. To those of us who are about to graduate, high school will soon be only memories. To us this yearbook will recall all the good times we have had together during our school careers. The class of ’62, sixty in number, is the sixty-first class to graduate from Crooksville High School. We are proud of our class and its accomplishments. We hope we have set a worth while example for the students who will follow us. We w ish to thank the teachers for their guidance and the citizens of Crooksville for the support that they have given us during these very important years of our lives. CHESTER LEASURE 6 The success and smooth functioning of C.H.S. are due to the efforts of Mr. Worthington, Superintendent, and Mr. Conley, Principal. Mr. Worthington has been superintendent for almost 11 years. Prior to his appointment as superintendent on February 1, 1951, he served as principal and as a teacher of World History. Mr. Conley has been principal for three years. He has served as head football coach for five years. His team was M.V.L. champions in 1959 and 1960. We wish to thank these two teachers for their untiring efforts in helping us to make our high school years successful and memorable. Mrs. Alexander has se rve d as secretary of C.H.S, for the past four years. She will long be remembered by the students and faculty of C.H.S. for her efficiency and sparkling personality. MRS. The last event the seniors took part in as a class was the senior trip to New York. This year will live on in our memories after 1962 is over and forgotten. The Crooksville High School Band, composed of 48 members, under the direction of Mr. Larry K. Wilson, began its hard drill two weeks before school opened, in order to be ready for the football season. At each game the fans were thrilled by a spectular show of formations and marching drill. The musicians also aided in supplying team spirit by playing fight songs at every touchdown. Besides performing at the football games, the band participated in two concerts, tag day, Band Day at Muskingum College, and many parades.
