We Prophesy Girls' Industrial School Marysville, Ohio May 28, 1965 At a recent visit to the Girls' Industrial School, we had a chance to talk to three old members of the Class of 1955. As we listen, we hear: Mona: 1 hear from an old friend that Melvin Jadwin purchased a race horse and won the sweepstakes at San Anita! He is now one of the world's most famous jockeys. Ruth: Yes, and remember his old side-kick, Myron Orr? Well, he has replaced Mr. Worthington as Superintendent of the Crooksville High School. Avalyn: Has anyone heard from Barbara Colbert? Mona: Yes, she married Buck Fleming and lives in a big two room shack in the heart of Rendville. Ruth: Denny Harper, our old class comedian, has taken over George Gobel's T.V. Pro- gram. Avalyn: I read in the Detroit Gazette where the Hammer's Motor Corporation has just produced a new car that will run without gas, oil, water, or a driver. Mona: Carol Brown came to visit me last week and said she had married the big movie producer, Dan Campbell, and had just purchased their fourth Cadillac. Ruth: Maxine Shell, the famous Mambo dancer who has just completed her last lesson at the Dale Cook Dance Studio, is now appearing at the Frash Theatre. Avalyn: Robin Hoops, head photographer for the Roseville-Crooksville Messenger is now taking pictures of the Roseville state Prison. Mona: I received a letter from Myrna Harbaugh yesterday, who does washings and iron- ings for people to earn a living. She said that the people of the community were taking up a collection to buy her a new washing machine. She wanted to know if I would contribute to the fund. Avalyn: Dona Houk, the popular veterinarian from Crooksville, who operated on a French poodle owned by Gene Dalrymple, was sued for shaving the dog completely.
