Highlights of the Crooked Oak BAND Concert which was held in the High School Auditorium on May 13, were: a clarinet duet with band accompaniment by John Jacoby and Stan Wells, a medley of piano novelty tunes by Wayne O'Bergg and skid Row as played by the trombone section. The band gave a matinee for the school stu- dents in the afternoon, and the reg- ular concert the following evening. The BAND was organized this year under the direction of Mr. O. T. Myers. Cfficers for the year were: Drum Major, Wayne O'Bergg Captain, Jerry Moweryg Lieutenants, Robert Wells and Bryan Corey, Sergeants, Dan Hayes, Merle Wells, John Jacoby, Ber- nard Mowery, Stan Wells and Dale Rose. The BAND has attended many important contests and meets this year. Members at- tending the Band Clinic at Edmond were: Wayne O'Berg, Jerry Mowery, John Jacoby, Bryan Corey and Robert Wells. Those who attended the Band Clinic at Stillwater were Jerry Mowery and Stan Wells. Jerry Mowery Dan Hayes, and Bryan Corey went to Okla- homa City University for the district contest. Dan Hayes and Bryan Corey represented Crooked Oak at the state meet at Norman. Pictured at the left are Wayne and Coleen O'Berg. Wayne was a member of the grad- uating class of Crooked Oak in 1958. This is Coleen's second year in the marching band, and we are expecting great things of her. She is following in the footsteps of her old- er brothers and sister, who were also mem- bers ofthe Crooked Oak BAND. Let's go, Coleen, and show them that you can do it too - maybe even better than they did.
