New instruments were purchased tor the band by the Lions Club and the school. Also, the students bought white pants to be worn with their blue capes. There are thirty-three members in the band and from these, otticers were elected. They arc: President, Bill Ray: vice-president, Barbara Kelso: secretary, Verna Mae Edwards: cape chairman, Ernest Engstrom: librarian, John lvicGrew: reporter, Tom Brown, and advisor, Mr. Whitney. A Girls' Glee Club of thirty-eight girls was tormed this year under the direction ot Norman K. Whitney. These girls are all treshmen and have had a successtulgear. They sang in the tall concert November I7 and in the hristmas program given in the Ochoco Grade School December 22. They also took part in the spring concert. Otticers ,chosen tor the Glee Club were: President, Ann Stearns: vice president, Nan Hagedorn, and secre- tary, Dotty Cumby. X Soloists are Ann Stearns, Marie Colomb and Arlene Sweet.
