As we look on The sporTs page of This annual, we see ThaT The championship TooT- ball Team was well boosTed by our junior boys. They were Ronnie Ashbacker, Tom Tangney, Dale Coonse, ForesT Orr, Ronnie HucIspeTh, Eldon Lund and Benny TennanT. Some oT These names will appear on The Championship Cup oT I949. BaskeTball was also backed by our junior boys. Those who made varsiTy were Bill Goben, Ronnie Ashbacker and ErnesT EngsTrom. Our acTive year included Taking care oT half of The concessions aT The ArmisTice Day game, and sponsoring a dance wiTh The Theme STormy WeaTher on The nighT oT OcTober 7. The Theme was carried ouT in decoraTions oT blue and silver. A TerriTic Time was had by The junior class aT The skaTing parTy: and The seniors, TaculTy, and board of educaTion seemed To enjoy very much The Junior-Senior BanqueT sponsored by our junior class. To end a perTecT year we had a well aTTended, well remembered class picnic.

Class advisors were Mrs. Fdwards and Mr. Shroyer. Sophomore boys were excepiionally oulsfanding in sporls This year wilh Archie Eilierl, Lee Rho- den, Doug l-larris, Johnny Grimes, Fred Gallager, and Cliff Rosenbaum earning lheir lellers in fooi- ball. Those earning lellers in baslcelball during lhe baslcelball season were Johnny Grimes, Fred Galla- ger, Cliff Rosenbaum, Ralph Gale and Kern Gibson. Jackie Rye, Leland l-lale and Dean Merrick earned iheir leilers as managers. Many of The boys on lhe iunior varsily were from lhe sophomore class. Several assemblies in which compelilion yells were held were won by 'rhe sophomores, perhaps due 'ro lheir large amounl of nine+y-seven sludenls. Yell leader Joe+'ra Ellis and iwo of her assislanls, Jo Ann Challanf and Mary Ann Olmslead, were also from 'rhe sophomore class.
