Our eyes wander 'firsT To a large colorful beer Truck. which seems To be driven by our old high school friend, BeTTy Dorn. As she backs up To Easy Come, Easy Go Tavern, we see The proprieTor and bar Tender, LaSelIe Coles and Zoe Porfily hurrying To unload. And righT behind comes The bouncer, Margie Caudle, performing her duTy on Ronnie Odegarde, privaTe deTecTive for David Hein. David is now going on his second million due To his success as a buTcher and is being ThreaTened by gang- sTer Jack EndecoTT. EnTering The Tavern is Ronnie McCullough, rancher bachelor, who is greeTed cordially by Jeannie GumperT, Tavern enTerTainer. Furfher down The sTreeT, beneaTh Adkisson's TheaTre Marquee, we find Bob Adams, famous archi- TecT, escorTing RuTh Hall, who is ouT of a iob aT The presenT, unless you would call mowing lawns an occupafion. NexT we see The PosT delegaTion, Naida Evans, Barbara BarreTT and BeTTy and LaVonne Hackleman, who are in Town ro help Doris Lee wiTh her eleven children. Also presenT are Larry Miller, chicken farmer, and his wife. Barbara Milliorn, who has become an experT aT milking cows. WiTh Them is Their bachelor friend, ArT SchmidT, manager of a machine company. ln The lobby, There seems To be a heafed argumenf befween Charlie Scanlon. dog cafcher, Delma Colomb. dog psychiaTrisT, and Dick Reid. counTy agenT. As we leave The TheaTer, we see Ronnie Jones disTribuTing pamphleTs he has prinTed for Barbara McRae, presidenT of a Temperance union. NexT we go To Erickson's new swank grocery sTore where KenneTh Eldridge, door man, is admiT- Ting Eunice Donaca, bookkeeper for Bob Adams. AT The counTer. deep-sea diver Don Broadsword and his secreTary, Iris Olmsfead, are geTTing supplies for Their nexT expedifion. ChesTer Kesler is barTer- ing his hobo library collecTion for food To conTinue bumming, aided by his librarian, Winona Powell. OuT on The sTreeT again. we sighf a parade, headed by Maxine Miller and her flag and Roger Seifkin and Imogene Walker, members of The iazz band. Sfrolling along The sidewalk are Blanche Sumner, an old maid. who raises baTs, and Billy Ray, preacher. Behind Them are Marion Van OsTen, mad philanThropisT, and his pencil sharpener, Leslie RoberTson. Racing along in a beaT-up ialopy are Pauline Quanf and Velma Smifh, members of ThaT famous hoT-rod club. Coming To The finer Things of life we go To The carnival on The ouTskirTs of Town. Here we find Hazel Brewer, forTune Teller, and Doug Johnson, who is a professional baseball player in The spring and a barker aT The carnival The resT of The year. Coming To The side-show, which is direcTed by Gary Ro- mine, are Buddy Reynolds, high school ag. Teacher. pursued by PaTTy Lanius and Verna Mae Edwards, boTh home ec. Teachers. Wandering abouT among The crowd, is Carol WhiTe collecTing maTerial for her new book on eTiqueTTe. A visiT To Jack Campbell's model agency, reveals Bob SmiTh and lvlarlyce Risland, his mosT called for models. Greafly conTribuTing To The success of This agency are Joan BallanTyne, publiciTy agenT: BeTTy Campbell, privaTe secrefary, and JaneT Grimes, his wife and scrubwoman. AT The STraTTon Air service, we see a ieT rockeT plane, which was invenTed by Billy Clark. WhaT's This? IT is Taking off, wiTh Jack McElwain aT The confrols and passengers Beverly Dalmer, special reporfer for The moon, and PaTTy Cain, bearded hermiT, who is hoping To find her long soughT for peace. Jack Campbell, Marion Van Osfen, Gerald Adkisson, Bob Smifh and Ron Odegard made fhe B squad. Les Roberfson, manager of fhe B squad also made his leffer. The Sophomore year proved financially successful. wifh fiffy dollars made from selling food af various acfivifies. A class dance was held in January. Boys making leffers in 'foofball were: Paf Gage. Mrs. Williams served as class advisor. The iuniors were well represenfed in all sporfs, wifh Doug Johnson, LaSelle Coles. Gary Romine, Bobby Smifh, Bud Reynolds, Lucky Endecoff, Ron- ald Jones, Charlie Scanlon and Gerald Adkisson receiving leffers in foofball. LaSelle Coles. Doug Johnson, David Hein, Lucky Endecoff, Paf Gage and Ron Odegard played varsify baskefball and re- ceived fheir leffers. Calvin McDonald was oufsfanding in tack. Leslie Roberfson was manager of fhe foofball feam. Zoe Porfily was presidenf of GAA and several girls were in fhe cabinef. Wifh fhe fheme of Evening in Paris, fhe class dance was given in November wifh greaf success. On April 7 and 8, Amazing Gracie, The class play was presenfed. The Girls' League cabinef was comprised of several junior girls and fhere were several Quill and Scroll members from fhe class. ln fhe spring fhe Junior banquef was given for fhe Seniors. Upon enfering fheir lasf year fhe following Senior class officers were elecfed: Bud Reynolds. president Rufh Hall, vice president Velma Smifh, secrefaryg Charlie Scanlon, freasurer: Jeanne Gum- perf. sfudenf council represenfafive, and Mrs. Robb, Mrs. Boyce and Mr. Burgess as class advisors. Boys were again acfive in all sporfs and fhe maiorify of imporfanf elecfive posifions were held by sen- iors. The class play. Reserve Two for Murder, proved highly unusual and enferfaining. Annual sub- scripfions from fhe seniors were IOO per cenf which was somefhing unique. The Senior Prom ended fhe year's acfivifies and graduafion proved memorable. foo, for fhis class was fhe lasf fo graduafe from fhe old school.
