JEANN1E MILUCAN GLENNA GREGORY CHARLOTTE WOOTEN The annual staff of 1970 proudly presents a view of Crockett High School that has become only a memory. An atmosphere that tingled with sincerity, nervousness, sadness, and happiness has been sensed this year and never again can be recaptured. We invite you to join us in looking back at the lifestream of CHS which flowed swiftly by. FOREWORD DEDICATION WE DEDICATE THIS 1970 BULLDOG TO MRS. LILLEY JIM MOORE Mrs. Moore has served with tireless dedication for ten years in Crockett High School. She has given us her best, asking only in return that we give our best. Mrs. Moore has served as not only a teacher, but also as a friend; never too busy to hear our problems; never too busy to offer a word of advice. Even though we could never fully repay Mrs. Moore, the staff of The Bulldog would like to honor her with this tribute. 3 IN MEMORY OF WAYNE STONE Sunset and evening star. And one clear call for me. And may there be no moaning of the bar. When I put out to sea. PRINCIPAL MR. SELMUS CURTIS SECRETARY 9 MRS. ELOUISE WOOTEN SCHOOL BOARD The Board of Education of the Crockett Independent School District is elected to represent the voters of Crockett in the public school system. The team started out slow due to bad practice weather. The team then prepared itself for district by winning the consolation championship in the Hudson tournament. The team then entered the district race. The Bulldogs won the district championship with a record of 7-1 in district play. The team then faced Crosby in the bi-district championship. Crockett won the best of three series by winning a game in both Crockett and Crosby. The Bulldogs than moved to the first round of regional play. The team had received consistent hit- ting all year, but great pitching had carried the Dogs this far. Ironically, good pitching is what fi- nally stopped the Bulldogs. The team was defeated in its bid for a regional berth by a strong pitching Little Cyprus team. The Bulldog-Bear games were the best high school games ever seen in this area. The Bulldogs finished the season with a 16-12 record. We congratulate the team on a job well done in 1970. 84 BI-DISTRICT CHAMPS 1970 PITCHERS AND CATCHERS TOP: Porter, Easterly, Jackson, Fisher, Richardson (not pictured), BOTTOM: Gilford, May, Beard.
