Perry Ramsey runs for touchdown against Buna for Bi-District victory Being a part of a football team that won Bi-District for the first time since 1938 was one of my greatest honors in eleven years as a coach. Due to injuries, our 1967 football team got off to a slow start but made a comeback that will always be remembered by everyone. We feel that each time we took the field, our team played with all-out effort. I believe we can sum up our ’67 season with this quotation from Sir Andrew Barton: Dudley Vickers, Tommy Allee and Jimmy Corbitt waiting to join in the game Captains Pike and LaRue take a breather before returning to the fray Seniors honor Mothers and Dads at the last home game Fight on, my men, Sir Andrew says A little I'me hurt, but not yett slaine; I'le but lye downe and bleede awhile, And then I'le rise and fight againe. G R A D U A T I 0 N GOT ALONG WITHOUT YOU BEFORE GET ALONG WITHO WE MET YOU GONNA UT YOU NOW GRADUATION: CLIMAX OF FOUR We are the Crockett High School Seniors of 1968. Looking back, we can recall many great experiences dur ing our four years at C.H.S. The fall of '64 brought to CHS the greenest bunch of fish to ever enter its halls. We were greeted with the traditional Good morning. Freshmen and after quite a dilemma, we replied Good morning. Seniors. Our officers that year were Peggy Barney, Dudley Vickers, and Debbie Gibbs. Also that year we presented the Sophomores with a FIASCO of a party. MOMENTOUS YEARS Practice makes perfect. PerryIII Our Sophomore year we felt a little more at home in CHS, That year we put on the production of Bat Cat and Canary. Our officers were Susan Goolsby, President; Dan Julian, Vice President; and Sheri Satterwhite, Secretary-Treasurer. This was the year we almost won District in football. As Juniors we were the first class to ever give a Sadie Hawkins party with a band. This was the year we almost won District in football again. Our officers were Perry Ramsey, Dudley Vickers, and Sheri Satterwhite. The entire year was spent working toward our prom. On May 5 we presented those unworthy Seniors of '67 with what was undoubtedly the last but BEST PROM EVER. The Shadow of Your Smile will always bring back mem- ories of that beautiful Arabian night. The Grand March begins!!! Perry delivers Words of Wisdom ! On September 5, 1967 we the Seniors of '68 began the last stretch as students of this institution. We were all prepared to hear Stewart's opening day speech but instead discovered that we had been tricked and were now faced with the strenuous task of breaking in a new principal. This particular one being quite difficult, too. His military ideas and reform school discipline have made it rather trying at times, but we have managed to let him know who was boss without too much trouble. Football season this year was quite different too. The familiar almost won district was replaced with a Bi-District championship, the first one in thirty years. Our officers this year were Dan Julian, Karen Northcutt, and Sheri Satterwhite. We attended the World's Fair on our Senior Trip and were escorted by two real sports, Jack Dickey and Joanne Lake. What fun that was with Rix and Ronnie's problems, the cigar that made Mrs. Lake sick, Becky going to the infirmary for a pep shot, Pam McCall stretched all over the bus, and the fireflies that kept popping up all over the bus. But all that is behind us now, never to return. We have gone to our last bonfire, Sadie Hawkins Party, and football banquet. We have played our last quarter in high school athletics. But all this will never be forgotten. We shall always remember these things as some of our most treasured memories, and we shall cherish the close friendships we have made in Good Ole CHS. Now, we the GREATEST CLASS TO EVER DARKEN THE HALLS OF CHS must move on to bigger and better things. LAST GLIMPSE OF '68 HAPPENINGS -'■t 8H0 310 3000 NI mw vr.
