M THE ROCKETTE 1973 Crittenden County High School Marion, Kentucky everyday we walk through the same doors, sit in the same chairs; and lean against the same lockers. During the year our path never changes, only our direction and destination. PROLOGUE ACTIVITIES ORGANIZATIONS ATHLETICS CLASSES ADMINISTRATIONS DIRECTORY ADVERTISEMENTS TODAY . . . In a day of peace symbols, anti-war slogans and public awareness, the role of youth becomes more prevalent and more essential. Capturing the ideas and the moods of today's active student generation presents itself as an increasingly important task. With this theme the challenge of the stu- dent is to dissect the elements that make TODAY history. 2 TODAY . . . We stand as citizens in a confusing world of afflu- ence and poverty, concern and apathy, waste and conservation, war and dreams of peace. We sing our songs and live our lives and we stand ready to shape the society we will rule. 4 5 TODAY . . . Cut loose! like a kite no longer tied to the earth; we should never grow so old that somewhere in us there is not a child - - one who puts no bridle on the happiness we share. 6 TODAY . . . Let us remember the excitement of a united spirit, the challenge of knowledge, the warmth of a smile, and the endless march of time Let us remember what we have learned and let us learn from what we remember. 9 TODAY ... WE REMEMBER OUT OF THE MASSES EMERGED AN INDIVIDUAL ALL THAT HE WAS - - - WE WILL REMEMBER 10 DON BROWN TODAY . . . WE HONOR Patricia Sobolewski Sobol You led us through the street of Paris and the gutters of London - - just as if we had really been there . . . You showed us that Dickens did more than write about a little boy named Tim, and that maybe Thoreau wasn't so bad after all . . . You taught us to KNOW before we spoke. And to back up our statements with facts . . . You taught us that one of the most essential elements of life is thinking for ourselves. That true freedom is freedom of thought. You fought for us. You laughed for us. And now and then you even cried. Because of us? For these reasons, and each individuals' reasons, we, the annual staff of Crittenden County High School, do dedicate this Rockette 1973 to you . . . To you . . .
