It will mean that now you are taking your place in the adult world. You will now be freed from what may often have appeared to you to have been the utyrannyv of high school. Soon you will be freed from the restraints that you may have felt were placed on you at home. Soon you will be making your own decisions. Your schooling and your training at home have been in a large sense preparation for this. How will you conduct yourself when you have your own decisions to make? PAUL L' BECK May l, with some hesitation quote for you, in slightly paraphrased form, the words of Robert Louis Stevenson to be applied as a standard of behavior. To lie honest, to be kind - to earn a little and to spend less, to make upon the whole a family happier for your presence, to renounce when that shall be necessary and not to be embittered, to keep a few friends, but there with- out sacrificing your standards - and above all, on the same grim conditions, to keep friends with yourself - here is a task for all your fortitude and delicacyf' . . . SECRETARY TREASURER We, the Class of 1965, leave Cristobal High School with mixed emotions. We are proud to graduate and thus pass our first important milestone on the road to success, but we are also sorry to leave our carefree high school days. Ours is the charter class of Cristobal Junior-Senior High School-we are the first class to complete six full years in this school. To those of you who follow in our footsteps, we wish luck and a pleasant future. When you become a senior, keep in mind that it is a privilege, and use that privilege with the dignity which it deserves. As you pass through these halls, think of those who have gone before you-especially the people of this class, our personalities, our spirit of togetherness. Remember us for the deeds we have done. Football The Football season of 1964 was a very successful one from Cristobal High School's point of view. Every Friday when the Tigers emerged from their Tiger,s Den they were on the prowl for V-1-C-T-O-R-Y. Victory they found in the Jamboree and every single game of the regular season. The Tigers rushed 84 times, gaining a total of 1,298 yards for a 4.58 yard average per carry. In the aerial division, the Tigers passed 50 times completing 23 passes for a total of 378 yards gained. The primary reason for the success of the team this year can be summed up in one word: teamwork. For every 25 yards run or passed at least 7, if not more, successful blocks must have been completed, especially in the Line, which is usually known for hard work and little glory. And so, one must not laud only the Backs for their running and passing, one must also praise the Line Men for their superb blocking this season. I08 Of the first string eleven, six of our members were selected for the Canal Zone All-Zone Team. These were: Orrin Cle- ment, Pancho Motta, Don McCullough, Robert Thomas, Leo Paulson, and Jack Blair. For Orrin Clement and Pancho Motta, this was the second time that they have received this award. 1964 SEASON SCORES C.H.S. This is not the first time that Orrin was named Most Valuable Playerfl He also received this honor his Junior year, which in itself is a great honor since the award is usually given to a senior.
