7emedMzaz4 SENIDR CLASS I'lISTORY My! How time has flown! .lust four short years ago under the com- petent guidance of President Shirley Trudeau, the class of '53 made its debut in C.H.S. They made a lasting impression on the faculty and the student body with their fine assembly, dance, and other programs. All this was accomplished with the aid of sponsor Mr. Paul Evancoe. The sophomore year was opened with a resounding tronncing of the newly adopted freshmen in the traditional frosh-soph brawl by the score of 85-32. Class sponsor Mr. Oscar Bixby was the master mind behind the victory. Polio cancelled many of the planned activities but the sophies produced a well-appreciated talent assembly and had a hand in many of the school's various drives and other functions. As juniors, the graduates to be of ,53 presented an inspiring assem- bly concerning the Independence of Panama, Under the leadership of Vernon Bryant, class president, and sponsor Mr. Merlin Davey and Miss Bess Liter, an outstanding Junior-Senior Prom was given in honor of the seniors. It was also at this time, that the election of S.A. officers took place. Three class members were elected to the various positions for the forthcoming year. They were Carl Pinto, Presidentg Ann Thomas, Secretary, and Leo Constantine, Treasurer. With the arrival of the school year ,52-'53 the newly-become seniors displayed wise judgment with the selection of Leslie Rinehart as class president. Les and Mr. Cook, senior advisor, proved an able pair as their combined talents enabled the seniors to put over an interesting and enlightening program on Theodore Roosevelt and a memorable Christmas Dance. The final year found the towering seniors leading the way in nearly every school activity. .
