CLASS PROPHECY JIM SPROUL ls one of the crew members on board ship. He has invented some of the electrical devices on the new missile. Jim graduated from college as an electrical engineer. Upon graduation he was employed by the Westinghouse Company, but he was soon transferred to government work to develop new electrical implements. Another member of the crew ls DICK HINEGARDNER. Dick designed the body of the ship. He was formerly employed as a designer for automobiles by the Ford Motor Company. Dick has made great strides in his work. Another passenger on board is also a secretary. She is the former Miss CAROLYN BAUMGARDNER who now resides ln St. Louis, Missouri, where she is employed by her husband. Carolyn has a nice home for her family in the suburbs of St. Louls. One of the generals representing the United States is DON RIPLIE. Don has been in the United States Army slnce graduation from high school, and he has advanced to the rank of general. The former Miss BETTY WILCOX is married and lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she is em- ployed in the office of a prominent businessman, engaged as an alronautical engineer. A man who may find interest in the vegetation on the moon is HERB PLAPP. Herb attended Mlchi gan State University and graduated with a degree ln forestry. He is working in the Cumberland Na- tional Forest as a ranger. He also has a greenhouse in the monmtalns where he has developed new varieties of plants. A woman who is employed now as a legal secretary to the Attorney General of the state of Illinois is also on board. She is Miss SALLY SCHGIER. Sally is quite interested in her work. The draftsman for many of the plans of this missile is ROGER LOWRY. I-le will be on board as a technical advisor. Roger is now llvlng in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, with his wonderful family. Here ls another passenger who' has entered the field of education. She is Miss PEARL ARMES of Boston, Massachusetts. Pearl is a graduate from Ohio Northem University with a degree in public school music, and she is now teaching ln one of the public schools in Boston. She also is contented ln her chosen vocation. One of the members of this group is going as a purely non-professional member. His name is JIM BAYLIFF. Jim graduated from college, and ls the friendly undertaker in San Franscisco. There you have it. That concludes the llst of passengers on this voyage. My goodness, how time fllesl We have only a few seconds until blast off time. Five seconds-four, three, two, one, O. They re off to the moon. Ladies and gentlemen, you have just witnessed one of the most important events ln history. Will they make it to the moon and back? Only time will tell. Yet, all of them have been prepared through extensive education and experience, and all of them have aimed at the moon.
