PROPHESY Ten years have passed very quickly. In those ten years I have prepared. myself to be a teacher and have taught for three-years in Jmhicago. Now I am on my way to Arizona. I will become the new second grade teacher at one of the grade schools, It isn't to large a school I donft know the reason for my choosing Ariaona. I guess it's just that I like the warmth and sunshine. August 2h, 1963 As I am riding on this tireatme Greyhound, mythoughts keep drift- ing back to my high school days at Cridersville. It doesn't seem as though I have been away from all my old school mates this long. I re- call one day before I started this trip. I was in Lima. While I was there I ran into Joan Beery. She is marriedJnoww,hasaaabeautiful3home. and a little boy three years old. It was good talking to Joan again. I was surprised when.Joan:toldrcmehthatadehetohnyrywhwhcs mswncw Mrs. Gordon Boyd, was living in Arizona. Seems that her husband issmanagg er of one of the leading department stores in Tucson. Maybe I will run into them. When my bus pulled into Memphis for a forty five minute lay over, I took a few minutes and went to the restaurant across from the bus depot to get a kite of lunch. As I sat down at the table to which I had been directed, for as I glanced across the room, there ixher beau- tiful white nurses dress sat one of my classmates, Marilyn Montgomery. Immediately I went over. She, too, was quite surprised. I guesshmy dream wasn't the only one to come true. Marilyn had always wanted to: be a nurse. She too, had reached her goal. I had never expected to see her in Memphis., She told me all ah ut the hospitali in which she was working. we didn't have to much ti' Lo talk, but she did tell me that Bety Morris was working in the tcl.o- .I odice in Lima as a secre- tary. She also told me that while she ..s vacationing in New York she ran into Jean Thomas. Jean is now a beauty operator in one of the largest beauty shoppe's there. She also told me that Marilyn1Mau1twwas married now and has a lovely four year old daughter. Her name nnweis Snyder, My forty fwe minutes didn't last nearly Ing enough. we were hav- ing a very nice time reminisceing when once again it was time for me to board my bus and be off. It surely was good as well as surprasmgg to see and chat with Marilyn again.. I wonder how long it will be 'un- til we can get together again. 1
