This was John Haesky, who is now serving in Germany. Last January two others were called to the colors. Robert Rohrbacher was inducted into the Anmj and Vernon Archer into the Navy. It is to these thrsr former classmates that we, the members of the Hhest We Forgetw staff and the senior class of 1945, feel privileged to dedicate this annual. TO TH CPIDERSVILLE EOAID OF EDUCATIONg The students, teachers and parents wish to congratulate the Board of Education on the efficient way in which they have managed the business affairs of the school. When I arrived, Betty was working in their gard had the prettiest flowers!! Of course, she asked me dinner, and Miranda, she really can bake the most de angle food cakes. . Well, I went back and get on my train and it wa that I had to sit down with a man-n!! Imagine Miren And he had on a uniform. Of course that seems funny the war has been over for some time. Well, it was n than FRED DUMM. I just didn't know what to think! officer. Captain! Of course, Fred was the same as talked about old times, you know--things like play p English, and his bookkeeping. Remember he had such time getting that subject! And to think, Miranda he 3 room nd aho do you think all night? No, it wasn't sh nderful, ny places yone I knew? We were talking along when all of Q sudden an o started playing WI Couldn't Sleep A Wink Lest Nightn vocalist was also a man. Another nan, Miranda. How it was a man? Why, Miranda, you knew me better than man's a man, you know. I but you can't auess who the crooner was? O h not him, he was a lot better than ever was, It was none'other than Kenny Thomas. You never thought I'd run into him, and there he was, si that low, mellow voice. It just made me feel so ron Gee-ee, Miranda, he certainly could sing. He also h the World War II, too. I f I . . 1 LA F smiles chase easel-Jae Yi I KCONTINUEDI The nurse--I looked twice and I thought I had heard that voice before--was Marilyn JEAN SPYKER. You know, she said she wanted to be a nurse, but didn't know whether to go on with that career or not. And, Miranda, she looked so cute in that blue cape and on her head a little white starched cap with a black band. She certainly did her duty of caring for the injured and helping Otters to get straightened up over har excitement of the train wreck. y And, Viranda, it was so discouraging when we found out we were several miles from any town and there we had to wait for somebody to rescue us. Was I scared? Of course, I was worked up a bit but after I recovered from the ignfh I get out of the train and looked around. And Miranda, you should have seen the beautiful farms around us. There were acres and acres of land, and those name do you suppose was painted on tlose farm buildings? I thought when I read that name that I should know that person, but yet I was'curious as to whom that might he. I looked all around me and this person' ex name was on all the buildings around me. Wind you, there wasn't just one farm in his name but five or six. Who was he? Oh, I forgot to tell yor, didn't I, Miranda? And it's a man to boot. None other than NORVILLE FPEYMUTH. You know, I thought when he went to college that he'd make good in agriculture. Fe certainly did!!! And to top it off, he has a government job, managing farms and such things. Isn't that won-der-ful? I always knew he's stick to the farm some way. Finally we were rescued. Another train came and I was off to New York City. You knew, that great big City, millions of people live there. Miranda, you still there? I wanted to make sure because I have some more to tell you. Did I get lost? no-oo, of course not! While I was in New York City, I thought I'd walk down Wall Street. Havan't you heard about Wall Street? Why that's the financial center. You know, where the stocks and bonds are handled. As I was saving, I was walking down Wall Street, who do you suprose I ran into? Fo, Miranda, I'm sorry to say, it wasn't a man. Darn it! None otler than PEGGY CARTER She was having her luncl leur at the time and asked if I would- n't dine wit? her. Miranda, she really has-gone up tkose stairs to success. She is a private secretary to Oliver P. Morton and dresses to r tee. Remember she was tall and slender and her ambition was to be a secretary. After luch she showed me hor office and it wus beautiful. She also asked me up to her apartment and who do you suppose she said was sharing this apartment with hor? Another old classmate who really became famous, too. Remember MKRY LOU CFGUSB? She had gone to college and was a private secretary to a lawyer. A lawyerlli Can you imagine that? And a private secretary to that big lawyer, Ephriam Tutt. J- Well, I got to thinking while I was in New York City, I'd like to see the sights of the city. The girls suggested that I go to the airport and take an airplane ride over the city. sewers chase Pffzeel-ugev When I get to the airport and was getting into the plane I heard somebody say, NFey there, remember me?u Of course, I 1ooked'around to see who was calling and, Miranda, there was another man! I must have men on my brain. Now, Miranda, no remarks. Getting back to this men, it was none other than NEILfKLEVAN. He owned several planes and of course he was a pilot so he took me up and showed me knows Tis aviation, I must say. the sights. He certainly Well, after my plane ride, I thought I'd stroll down Fifth Avenue. And who do you suppose was in one of the most exclusive shops on the Avenue? And she was trying to decide which wedding gown she liked best. We.., I cou1dn't believe my eyes, but it was HELEN MOIRIS. She had been engaged for some time and was now planning for her wedding. Won't she look pretty in that wedding gown? Oh, I almost forgot to tell you, while I was at Petty and Paul's they drove me out to BOB P0UFPAPVER'S farm. Of course he had all the latest mackinery. At the time I saw him, he was having trouble with Tis tractor. Who do you suppose he had as his mechanic, none other than VEFWGW keep things repaired. AFCPEF. He certainly can , Well, I was getting rather tired, so I came home. It certainly was a wonderful trip and meeting my old classmates of '45 was truly an inspiration. Yes, Nirandn, that's why I haven't called vou for some time. What's that, Vlranda? Oh--somebody wants the line? What? Hello--Hello! Gee-ee, I duess she hung up.
