KPhrophecy Concludedj do since Anna Jean got started. Guest pianist was Betty Jane Thomas, and gosh!! l'm still surprised she played through the entire performance without Uswingin' itn just once. The master of ceiewonies, Professor Harold Mayerfby the way, Betty June said he bad become terribly absent mindedltnen announced the principal speakers, two out- standing national figures, a hero and a heroine of the last World Var. Remerber all that ado about something back when we were still in school? They were Admiral Paul Sheely of the United States Navy, who is given cre- dit for sinking twenty enemy subs,CwhewjJand Lieutenant Nargaret Alyce Hash, Army nurse, who saved many lives in the Face of danger. We vere all carried away by their inspirational speeches, Parl's personality, and Peggy's red hair and green eyes. To top off the evening, we had two performers every- body has beard and beard of. That startling, silly, crazy incorrigible comedy team, Don Dieringer and Bay Finkley. Just looking at their blissfully blank faces would send even Greta Garbo into convulsions. who could think of a better wav to end a perfect dayjl9?J So I left the exclusive, big little town of Criders- Ville after rather haprazardly attending to what the boss sent we foril was too carried away really, to pay much attention to wishy-washy sudsland between reports I mused on Cridersville, today and yesterday. cwritten by --------- ,

SEN 10K C LASS PKOPH I CY Five minutes till closing time in the offices of Smith and Jones Co.Cmanfacturers of Soapv Suds, the best washday soap, etc., etc.Dwten my employer called me into his office and told me to catch the next plane for Cri- dersville to settle some of his aftairs there. Trying to control a delighted grin, I left the of- fice and caught a plane. About five minutes later, I became aware of whispers and giggles tlat somehow sound- ed familiar. I turned around and there were Marjorie Rohrtacher and Mildred Laing. Marjorie is married, and was just returning from a vacation at Lake Placid. Nil- dred is a Powers model, and a very lilely candidate for Miss America this year. After gossiping with them a- while, I was really surprised to learn that Earl Zimmer- man was president of the airline, one of whose planes we were on at the time. He received this position by some invention of his which made air travel safer than walk- ing. The next morning as I left my hotel, I bumped into Betty June Eley. She's president of a local dramatic group, and a member of a famous international dramatic club. She insisted on showing me the new Cridersville, and first took me into a restaurant. The place was really unusual--French waitresses, Uawaiian murals on the walls, and a pseudo Latin Am- erican orchestra. when I saw the proprietress every- thing was explained. Gay, irresponsible Peulah Hinklel Th1s was her latest brain wave. Petty then took me down to the local radio station, which has become one of the best in the world, and we saw the famous news commentator, D'ck Greer, give one of his world-wide broadcasts--funny, how he used to want to be a mortician. Over in the next studio RobertaCBobbieJ Hyne, the noted interior CGCOIHTOP, gave advice on how to decorate a ten-room pent-house. She has just recent- ly been asked to redecorate the east-room of the White House, gossip has it. That even ng we attended the performance, which was to dedicate the new auditorium at Cridersville University Up in the instructors' balcony we noticed Azuba Wolfe, Dean of Women here at the University. Time for the program to begin. The orchestra was under the direction of Gordon LeeCPud7Meffley, who has been recently voted most popular orchestra leader in the nation. His saucy, sparkling little vocalist was Anna Jean Mowery. Pemember Bettv Hutton? Few people ,wx 'A v um W-,FAR AJ' g J,-
