Innovations and school activities Buz Barton, Dick Ward, Eugene Flowers, and Kay Roberts, English and typing students, work on Dis- patcher layouts. The brilliance of the school year of 1965-66 eminated new facets and innovations which had been added to give lasting durability. Each teacher and piece of new equipment servedas a setting for a schoolyear of sparkle and excite- ment. Mr. Lee Johnson taught full-time driver education in both car and classroom training. While studying at Old Dominion College during the summer of 1965, he received qualifications for driving skills. Two new assistant coaches were added to the faculty this year. Mr. Harry Vannoy as- sisted Coach Golubic in football, and Mr. Wayne Latham brought the possibility of a track team. Other new teachers were Mr. Barry Carnes, science; Mr. Barrow Cyrus, English and dra- matics; Mrs. Dorothy Maher Tysinger, physical education (girls); and Mrs. Lorene Roberts, English. The Dispatcher, formerly sponsored by the Beta Club, was placed under the supervision of the English Department. Mr, Johnson points out driving skills to students Inky Boisseau, Roger Smith, Arthur Fender, and Sandra Roop. Principal Via and Mr. Goldsmith, Director of Instruc- tion, discuss the Evaluation Program.
