Ten members were added to the club in 1948. A special assembly program concluded a week of initiations. Hi-Y sponsors boys’ basketball, giving gold basketballs to Senior lettermen.

G. Leath, Jr., ten years ago. Anyone taking Home Economics may join the club and is eligible to be chosen as officer of the local chapter. The Future Homemakers o f America’s colors, red and white, are a symbol of youth and home life. Our motto, “Toward New Horizons,” expresses the pur¬ pose of our organization. It is to better ourselves and our families and friends in the future. The red rose, the organization’s flower, stands for vibrant, glowing health.
