This year's Raider team, manned by five se- niors, gained two individual championships, placed second in the conference, and fourth in the state. Cretin won championships at Austin's Holi- day Tournament, by downing Benilde 77-52 in the title game, and Region Four Championship, by defeating Hill 76-66. In CCC play Cretin proved a strong team throughout the season, defeating Hill 89-51, 86- 583 Benilde 56-40, 39-273 Brady 63-55, '70-463 St. Thomas 67-60, but lost to De La. Salle by scores of 51-49, 54-53, and a 59-53 loss to St. Thomas caused the Raiders to tie for second with De La Salle. Named to the All Conference team were Terry McMahon and Jack Tamble, with Tamble being selected Conference MVP. In the State Tournament, Cretin edged Owa- tonna Marion in overtime 70-60, and dropped a 66-65 decision to Champion Rochester Lourdes. Cretin also fell to St. Thomas 63-58.
