VICE-PRESIDENT CHUCK REISCHEL The intense drive that characterized Chuck Reischel made him a virtual stick of dynamite. Respected by all for his high scholastic rank and his prowess on the football field, Chuck is ably suited for and worthy of the high position he holds. As a bulwark of the offensive and defensive lines of the football team, he helped Cretin extend its undefeated string by coming through with bone-crushing blocks and tackles. A scholar extraordinaire. Chuck ranked at the top of his class. a position obtained by hard work and resolute perseverance. During his four years at Cretin, Chuck has distinguished himself in many fields. He has been elected to class office three times, serving twice as secretary and this year as vice-president. Twice he was named to the National Honor Society. ln his senior year, he was chosen Cadet Colonel. These honors were not undeservedg they were earned by dedicated service to his class and to his school. Chuckis opinion on various class policies and productions is highly respected. His keen perception and mature judgment are qualities which will undoubtedly lead him to future success. Chuck is a model all future seniors should strive to emulate and his value to the Senior Class can not be effectively stated in mere words. TREASURER JIM JUST A fiercely competitive perfectionist, Jim is one of the hardest- working most efficient people at Cretin. ln constant demand because of his tremendous energy, initiative, and organizational ability, Jim. though always pressed for time, has always managed to make a success of everything he has undertaken. For four years Jim has been active in every phase of school activity. As a speed merchant in track, an editor on the Comment, an executive in student government, and a star in the classroom. Jim has contributed more to the class and to the school than can be expected from anyone. An inspiring leader, Jim organized and directed a great many Class of '61 activities. His take-charge ability and dynamic leader- ship were in great part responsible for realizing the class goal of overall excellence. Straight forward, enthusiastic, personable, Jim is popular with all classes. His sincerity and sense of values make him admired and respected by all with whom he comes into contact. His many accomplishments and his fine leadership earn for Jim the gratitude of the Class of '61 and of the entire school.

0 PRESIDENT JERRY FILLA Jerry's immense popularity and the high esteem in which his ability is held by his fellow students were shown when, for the fourth year in succession, he was elected President of the Class of ,61. The tireless energy which characterized everything he undertook sparked and propelled the Senior Class to outstanding achievement. Always ready to give that little bit extrav, his presence provided invaluable moral support to his classmates. Living proof of the adage c'Give a busy man a job and it will be donev, Jerry has always been available when help was needed. His generosity and his leadership were demonstrated time and again at social functions, athletic events. and other activities as he showed the way for the Class of '61. Jerry is a quiet leader. He doesnlt make a lot of noise, but when he says something, it makes sense because it is the result of sound, logical thinking. When he makes corrections, he never offends be- cause he does not speak fin the termsfy of individual mistakes, but fin the termsl of basic principles. A warm smile, friendly conversation, and an inherent considera- tion for others have won for this personable young man many friends. The work he has done and the time he has given through four out- standing and memorable years are deeply appreciated by one and all. SECRETARY JOHN LANDY One of the brighter, more sparkling personalities at Cretin, John is never at a loss for a timely witticism or a humorous comment. His contagious good humor has often encouraged those around him and made more enjoyable their tasks. As Cretinis sports writer and most avid fan, John has been a faithful follower of all Raider teams in every sport. In fact, John has for your years been a 'cregularn organizer in all Cretin activities. His amazing school spirit and loyalty which bubble over to others have been a valuable asset to his class and to his school. John has been a motivating force behind all Class of '61 projects for four years. As an idea-man and policy-maker, his good sense and judgement were instrumental in guiding the class to success. A quietly effective, versatile person, John, is the epitome of a Catholic gentleman and student. He is the type of person Cretin takes pride in developing.
