With trophies for winning the fresh 440 yard relay, the senior 880 yard relay, and for having the highest total points in all competitive events, the Cardinals as- serted their supremacy. The Cards' first meet was the Wymore Invitational in which they scored a totw. of 12-5X7 points. In the succeeding meet, the Wil- ber Dual, the Cretans romped over the Wolverines 86 to 45. Doubling the score over their nearest rival the team grabbed an easy victory in the Saline County Meet held at Simon Field. The total points and the respective teams were as follows: Crete- Vlfg Dorchester-seg wilber-5353 Dewitt-e' and Tobia and Western, 1 apiece. The Cards journeyed to Has- Cretans returned with a sum total of l point--not even earning the meal the school had so gratuitously donated. The Redbirds, having collected 9 of 14 firsts but having failed to place men in the lower berths, lost a thriller to Jackson, 65-59. '. The next meet was the State, in which Bauer, D. Wheeler, Davison, Redman, Dudley, Foster, and Stastny qualified. Competition was too stiff for the Crete lads to cop any points, however. We dedicate this small space, which hardly exem- plifies the credit due, to Miss Wilma Bute, Princi- pal Calvert and Richard Vifquain, To Miss Wilma Bute who so loyally and willingly devoted her best efforts toward making this, yearbook what it is, we sincerely give our thanks. Also to the only parti- cipants in the newly formed minor sport GOLF--yes! to Principal nAlfien Calvert and to nDickieu Vif- quain, Esquire, the only golf candidates, we heart- ily give forth the honor that need be accredited.
