Eunice Schrein is the 'fs president and Patty Conrad is the vice-president, A Besides its two main achievements of the year ---- - at presenting the Christmas Vesper program and prepar- A, ing music for the district music contest the Glee if Club furnished music for the class plays, senior 1 recognition, baccalaureate, commencement, convoca- y tions, and a convocation at Dorchester High School. 6, The club sang at the district music contest at 4' Beatrice where a rating of superior was awarded it. X The following soloists also entered the contest and rated thus: Beth Knight in high voice, superi- Q, org Florence Stejskal in high voice, superiorg and A 7 fo. The mixed quarutte' consisted of seniors Betty Lou Wild, Beth Knight, Paul Jensen, and Price May, The quartette, with the addition of Donna Lee Sle- picka, made up the mixed quintette, The girls' sextette is made up of Phyllis Bahner, Mary Jo Kobes, Beth Knight, Beth Mekota, Florence Stejskal, and Betty Lou Wild. All these groups except the mixed quintette at- tended the district contest where they were ranked superior. THE CRETE HIGH BAND The Crete High Band, under the direction of C. M. Stuchlik, has made much progress in the past two years. Time has been spent with sections, as well as with the entire band. The following represented the instrumental department at the district contest at Beatrice this year and were rated thus: Clarence Papik Tuba Excellent Evelyn Prasek Clarinet Excellent Eldon Darrington Saxaphone Excellent Arlene Sobotka Trombone Excellent Verlee Bouska Trumpets Superior Elmer Javorsky Eugene Stoll Norris Medela Drum Good Entire Band ' Good Bernice Gardner, drum majorette, led the marching band, assisted by baton twirlers Arva Jean Burrus , Larry Burrus, Jean Darrington, Donna Feeken, Mary Lou Kerst, Marjorie Sack, Dorothy Zelenka and Norma Zelenka, it xml ,sg M V3 Wg J fy ls L P ? Five students took part in the District Declama- tory Contest which was held in Crete. They received these ratings: ' Audrey Booth, Good in Interpretive Oratoryg Paul Jensen, Excellent in Extemporaneous Oratoryg Both Knight, Excellent in Dramatic Readingg Gwen Lannom, Superior in Humorous Readingg and Patsy Payne, Good in Original Oratory, FP Fl A9 Learning to do Doing to learn Learning to live Living to serve This year there are about fifty active members in Ag The Qfficers of the F' FQ AQ are Frank Spinarg Vice-President, Roland the F. F5 President, Hatcliffg Secretary, Clarence Papikg Treasurer, Lumir Papikg Reporter, Kenneth Meinkeg Advisor, RQ Canada, There are five State Farmers in the F, F. Ag The state farmers are Ervin Spinar, Lumir Knbloek, Frank Spinar, Carl Kemper, and Gerald Meinke. Lumir Kubicek is the only member who is applying for his American Farmer degree, He received his State Farmer degree last year. The young farmer class and those who are regulars ly enrolled in Vocational Agriculture are producing over 10,000 broilers this spring, Many other pro- jects, including the raising of dairy cattle, dual- ur ose cattle bah beeves shes swine and lon Z , P P o 7 C P. others.
