The school president is also president of the Student Countil. Paul Jensen was president for 'M this year, Vice-president was Robert Spinarg ser- geant-at-arms, Norman Stastnyg secretary-treasurer, 'v Patricia Conrad. John Brenneman was elected sponsor Q of the group. The sale of candy at games, the sale - of holly during the holidays, and the collection of 1 book fines provided money for activities this yearz The Council sponsored a number of school dances, purchased a large flag for the assembly, and 'sub- scribed to several magazines for thelibrary. 1 GIRL RESERVES ' If you happened to be standing in the hall of the la high school on a Monday night during the school A 'l year, you might hear something like this: nThe A meeting will now come to orderln issued by the it president, Shirley Pflasterer.l You could hear lj Eunice Schrein, the secretary-treasurer, calling TQ roll and reading the minutes. The membership chair- V4 man, Aileen Speedlin, would tell you of the new my girls that had been taken into Girl Reserves. With ,Q the business over, Mary Jo Kbbes the vice-president iq would present the program. If the evening was to be Q4 spent informally, Audrey Booth, the social chairman Y' would take charge.'Then you would hear music rounds ,B crazy camp songs, or some of the National Girl 'i Reserve songs. The pianist, Phyllis Rethmoier Q would be playing and the Girl Reserves, led by Beth W' Knight, the song-loader, would sing! Towards the 3 end of the meeting, a seriouspart of the meeting would be added by Patty Conrad, the chaplain. If 15 you were standing too close to the door, you would probably get hit as the 56 Girl Reserves dashed 3 madly home, ' This is the second year for the Crete Girl QP Reserves. They have done constructive things. A tea for their mothers was held during the holidays, . They contributed to the needy and caroled to old A folks who were bedfast at Christmas time. They at have helped themselves by learning to knit and hearing book reviews. The Misses Wilma Bute, Alyce w Hokuf and Frances Turner are the very able sponsors A Q
